Mark Reed Health Care District consists of a Critical Access Hospital and a healthcare clinic. Our hospital is unique to our area in that the average waiting time in our 24 hr. Emergency Department is around 15 minutes. We serve the district of East Grays Harbor; however people from the coastal towns and Mason and Thurston counties utilize our facility as well. People like the friendly and efficient care they receive at Mark Reed. They also like that often they can drive here, be treated for non-life threatening emergencies, and back home in less time than they would have waited in line at many other ER’s.
Because we’re a Level V trauma center, our medical staff possesses the skills to evaluate, resuscitate, stabilize and initiate the transfer of trauma patients to a higher level of care if necessary, either by ambulance or helicopter. Stopping at Mark Reed first for stabilization can often mean the difference between life and death in the instance of heart attack, stroke, or serious accident/injury.
We also run a Skilled Nursing program at Mark Reed. Patients who are recently out of surgery but need more time to recuperate before they return home can stay at Mark Reed and receive friendly, one-on-one care in quiet and peaceful setting. Our boutique-style rooms and custom meal plans make Mark Reed Hospital a favorite among our Swing Bed patients. Plus, because we’re a small hospital, our staff has ample time to give round-the-clock attention to our patients, and we provide easy access for visitors.
